Our Family's Playground


About

Three cliffs and Pobbles has been the Beynon's playground for generations. Only a short way down the hill, enjoy the spectacular views up the valley to Pennard Castle.

Time: 4 hours (total)


1. Leave the shop, turn right walk down the lane 30 metres and turn left down the lane (follow sign "to the beach").


2. Carry on down the hill until you reach the stepping stones. Walk across and walk across the bay to the Three Cliffs headland.


3. Walk around the headland into Pobbles Bay.


4. Climb the steep path up to the top of the cliff. Follow the cliff path until you reach the National Trust car park.


5. Walk past the Three Cliffs Coffee Shop and along Southgate Road until you reach Pennard Golf Club.


6. Follow the public paths across the golf course until you reach Pennard Castle. Rest and enjoy the view.


7. Follow the steep path back down into Three Cliffs valley, turn left and walk toward the sea until you return back to the steeping stones. Cross over and back up the hill to the campsite.


Pennard Castle


To reach the stepping stones to cross the river to access Pennard Castle, you need to head down to the beach as above but continue straight on after you pass Stonefields. Please beware of the tide when crossing the stepping stones and seek advice from the reception staff first.
